Walls Are Up

We have walls!! Renee was up this past weekend so of course we went by to see the house. It had changed SO much since she was up 2 weeks ago...we had brick and we had walls! Plus the vinyl is up. And today, 3/20/07, they poured our driveway. We also have a sidewalk and steps in front. So many changes in just a few days! I think they taped the walls today and tomorrow and the rest of this week they will probably put the initial paint job on (or whatever they call that) and then start installing the kitchen cabinets. Things are coming along nicely!! Stay tuned for more updates....

We Got It!

We got our "majestic" door! Thanks Levi! I was told that we were going to have the boring SunBurst over our door but we lucked out and got the one that we wanted the most! It's got the swirley deals on it! Looks awesome! Plus, today, 03/14/2007, they put the almond colored vinyl on the back of the house. I'll have to get some better pictures of it but the sun was going down. Anyways, the drywall is scheduled to go in on Friday.

Pre-Drywall Inspection

I met with Robert Major of Major Home Inspections today for a pre-drywall inspection of our Inglewood. Things went fairly well with a few things that need to be addressed. Levi advised that he would address most of them (but NOT all of them). I did find out that we are getting the SunBurst over our front door (see pictures of model 3/11/07 entry) (unfortunately, we don't really have a choice). We are having the walk-thru on April 19, 2007 at 10:00 AM followed by the closing on April 23, 2007. Renee and I are extremely excited!! I got my loan locked at at 5.75% with Wells Fargo! (Ryan Homes wasn't too thrilled that I didn't go with NVR but that's another story for another day.) Georgi and I went thru the model today! They've done some interesting paint jobs in there! I posted additional model pictures.

Look At Our Brick!

Check out that brick! It looks very nice! Now they just gotta put the vinyl on the back!! I hired my own home inspector (Robert Major) to do a pre-drywall inspection Monday morning at 8AM. Then, I am meeting with Levi at 10:30 our pre-drywall meeting. Should be an interesting day at the house!

Brick Is Nearly Complete

They were working on the last part of the brick-laying today. I suspect that they will have the brick finished by the end of the day. It is really looking nice out there and starting to look like a home. I am having a personal home inspector out on Monday followed with my pre-drywall meeting with Levi on Monday as well. Then, they should start putting the drywall up next week. I noticed they had started on some of the electrical stuff yesterday as well. Days Away From Drywall

I met with Brink's Security today to mark out where I want the window contacts, phone lines, and cable outlets. They have the bricks about half-way up. I have locked in my Interest rate with WellsFargo. See some rough photos below (the kitchen is another model but similar to what we are getting):

Making Progress....

It's been over a week since I took some photos and posted them to the web. They have made decent progress on our Inglewood. The roof tile was laid and the house was wrapped in Green Guard Ultra Wrap (an air and moisture protector). Levi said the bricks would start going up next week as well. Renee and I got to go inside of our house the other day and they the skeleton walls for all three levels complete and were starting to do some of the air ducts. It shouldn't be long before they run wire and subsequently put up the drywall. The model is complete and Jon said furniture would arrive around 3/12/07. Here's a few photos of the progress:
